I am happy to report that I’ve been able to do fairly short and fairly flat walks without any problems for several days. Soon I’ll try heading down into the neighborhood park, which is not steep by any stretch of the imagination, but a few weeks ago walking downhill that long was too much.
I haven’t decided whether I’ll attend the symphony this week – it’s a shorter piece by Copland and then, after the intermission, the Brahms Requiem, which lasts over an hour. I’d like to see Francesco again, as he’s only with us for this performance and one more, but I’ve tried listening to bits of the Requiem online and am not finding it appealing – and having to listen to a choir plus soloists for that long seems very likely to lead to headaches. I guess we’ll see. The most likely compromise will be to go for the pre-concert talk and the Copland.
